Canadian IT's Data Protection Plan Features:

Services Provided:
  • Servers carefully managed by Canadian IT's Network Operations Team .
  • On-site Network Attached Storage (NAS) unit provides fast server virtualization capabilities in event of server failure
  • Secure, remote storage provided at two hardened data centers
  • Complete management of the NAS and remote storage
Data Protection Service Plans
  • 24x7 monitoring by our Network Operations Team
  • Asset tracking of software and hardware, and preventative maintenance of both
  • Categorization and problem analysis by our expert team
  • Remediation of issues related to faulty backups
Security
  • Data encrypted before it leaves your servers; only CanadianIT can access the encryption key
  • Additional security: data encrypted again before transit over the internet, where encrypted files are stored on multiple servers in high security facilities
  • Each file encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption technology. 256AES encrypted data cannot be read without corresponding keys; encrypted data cannot be misused even if stolen
File Compression:

Files are compressed on the NAS using state-of-the-art compression technology before it is encrypted. Compression programs use algorithms to decrease the size of data sequences by reducing repetitive characters. Most compressors work at either the file or driver level. Reduces the storage space and remote server.

BackUp Frequency:

Data backed up as often as each 15 minutes to Network Attached Storage (NAS) unit located in your office ,Contains No unreliable tapes; instead backing up your data to redundant hard drives . All data and applications are backed up.Full restoration of files fast and easy enough to be done by anyone.

Historical Archieve:

Our service offers scheduled backup plans that include a 7-Day, 14-Day or 30-Day archives on the NAS which can be selectively pushed out to a remote storage facility. The option of expanding the retention period from a 1-Year to 7-Year History is also available.

Smart Data Transport:

Data transmission can easily be configured to minimize bandwidth consumption. Our NAS leverages Adaptive Bandwidth Throttling, which allows us to set a limit on outbound bandwidth used, (e.g. assuming a 768Kpbs outbound connection, adaptive bandwidth throttling can be set with a maximum at 512Kpbs.) CanadianIT exercises fine control over the data imaging and transmission processes.

Remote Storage provided at two XO high availability Data Centers:

  • Highly redundant storage with backup images stored on a SAN at primary storage facility, replicated to secondary facility
  • Connectivity provided by multiple providers with automatic failover capabilities
  • Facilities provide two fiber optic network drops for our backbone
  • Full physical security at each facility including security camera, key card and biometric access
  • Network secured with high-end redundant, automatic failover firewalls
  • Fire suppression and environmental control provided
  • Remote Storage and Base Remote Backup Image Creation:
  • Remote storage provides off-site back up at two secure data centers in the US.

Routine Retrieval Testing:

Your data is stored (in encrypted form) in two secure online data backup centers, located hundreds of miles apart from each other. Images are tested monthly to ensure they can be restored in the event of data loss

OwnerShip of Data:

The backup data being stored on the NAS and at the data center remains the sole property of the client. If the client chooses to terminate services, CandianIT will assist client in the orderly termination of services. This could involve copying the backup image to an external drive. Client agrees to pay CanadianIT the actual costs of rendering such assistance.
